Supportive type orthoses are not indicated when dealing with the Primus Metatarus Supinatus foot type:  PMs forces the foot to abnormally pronate during late stance phase of gait. To reverse this abnormal motion, a tactile input is necessary (1) a supportive type orthosis does not provide this input; (2) a proprioceptive insole does provide this tactile input.
